RIP Harmon Killebrew 1936-2011

The Sully’s Crew sends our condolences out to the Killebrew family and the Minnesota Twins on the passing of baseball legend Harmon Clayton “Killer” Killebrew.
Killebrew was the 1969 American League MVP and elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984 (335/403 ballots). Harmon currently holds the #11 spot on the all-time home run list, but with several steroid cheaters ahead of him on the list, he’s really closer to the top. A thirteen time all-star at three different positions, Killebrew and Rod Carew (and hilarious powder blue uniforms) defined the Twins franchise for two decades. Harmon is the Minnesota franchise leader in most offensive categories, including games played, extra base hits, HRs, RBIs, OPS, and SLG.
If you’re famous for that long you think people would be jumping out of the woodwork to tear you down. But not with Killebrew, he was universally loved as far as I’ve seen.
Too bad Killebrew didn’t play for the Sox, we could have come up with some amazing Sully’s tees with such an awesome name.
